August 24, 2015 visiting a sick brother
I went to Mackay Memorial Hospital at Tamshui early in the morning. A brother of a female employee at the local Baptist Church has been hospitalized over one month. Based on brotherhood, I’ve got to visit him with a bundle of lilies. We had a small talk and a brief prayer at the hospital. Thank God for giving me the opportunity of serving a sick brother in need.

I feel so glad to visit him for I have mentioned his name in my prayer sever times in the past month. And now with the financial help from my wife, I can give him substantial encouragement and help. Thank God for this. And I am confident this move can please God.

August 25 God’s heart on charity
God’s heart is on charity. Without charity, how can children of God do good to others and show them the love of Christ? Only good words don’t work. Good words must be yoked with good deeds, which are the foundation of a good faith. While reflecting on the journey of faith in the past, I really feel that a good faith can not be separated from compassion and love for neighbors, acquaintances, relatives, and even strangers. In these two years, my family supports two poor young students by a monthly donation. This is a foundation for God’s blessings.
And I keep donating receipts and small money to the donation box of convenience stores every day. This practice can educate myself to be more graceful and merciful. Thank God for teaching me to have mercy and compassion to this world.

August 26 unexpected sunshine
Sometimes especially when it is rainy and cloudy day, it is difficult for us to forecast when the sky will turn clear and blue. However, God’s mercy will definitely give us an unexpected sunshine. He will help out of difficulties which have troubled us for so long. For me, my marriage is really an unexpected sunshine.
When I was young, I have been expected a Ms. Right to enter into my life. However, I have felt so frustrated and discouraged for about two decades. Until the Christmas of 1997, Spring Su unexpectedly entered into my life and thus the table was turned. I can witness that she is the biggest helper and comforter in my whole life. She is the biggest blessing in my life. This is really an unexpected sunshine.
My dear friends, don’t be discouraged by anything that has been troubled you for so long. Keep praying and rejoice always. God will definitely give you an unexpected sunshine, showing you a bright path to walk on. Tomorrow will be a sunny day.

August 27 the golden principle of obedience
Today is a big day for the final version of my new book is finished. Everything turns fine. Indeed, the editor of Tunghua Bookstore is very serious and critical. However, I know the golden principle of obedience. So during the process of producing this book, I did my best to cooperate with her. Based on my softness and obedience, the relationship is harmonious and positive. And the spirit of team work counts. Thank God for teaching me the principle of obedience by sufferings. Looking back over the years in the past, I paid much for learning the lessons of obedience. And now I am softer and more cooperative than ever before. Thank Lord for His abundant grace. My dear friends, learn to be obedient and cooperative, and this will lead to prosperity and success.

August 28 the valley of blessings
In life, we have both sunny and rainy days. We have success and failures. Life seems to be a mixture of good luck and bad fortune. However, if we don’t fall from grace, God blesses us especially in the valley of our life.
I have two most successfully published books which I produced during the darkest two years when I was sick and even long-time unemployed. During those two years, I spent much time writing books in cafés in the neighborhood. And God’s grace never left my wife alone. So she was willing to support me to finish these two books. These two books are indeed the blessings of the valley. And due to the successful publications, God arranged connections and door of opportunities for me. It is really amazing grace.
My dear friends, don’t be discouraged especially in your valley of life. Look up to God Who is willing to bless you in the valley. Keep contacting Lord Jesus Christ, Who will definitely turn your dark days into a bright future. And He will open the window of opportunities for you.

August 30 the spirit of truths
The spirit of truths, that is Holy Spirit, will reveal the future thing to us for us know the inside information. When my son Ian and my daughter Joy had a big health problem in their childhood, I asked God and prayed for their peace. At that time, the Holy Spirit dispensed a feeling of joy inside my spirit. And then, I knew the situation would turn fine. Afterwards, their problems turned out to be fine. The table was actually turned. And this principle has been endorsed by so many cases of my life.
My dear friends, when you have any trouble, please keep calm and turn to the Lord asking for peace. According to your prayers, the Holy Spirit will reveal the future thing to you. If you feel peaceful and joyful, then the thing will definitely turn fine. For Holy Spirit is the spirit of the truths.

Sept. 1 thanksgiving brings about grace
It is remembered that I paid every thank to the Lord for each dish on my menu every day about four years ago. And God is so humorous that one day the Holy Spirit asked me whether you would pay thanks to me for your menu. The thanksgiving produced great grace for me. At first, I only paid thanks to the Lord for the meal. And then I was inspired to prepare meals for my family. And then, I started to learn how to cook meals by myself for my family and students. And by doing this, the grace of the Lord was multiplied and abounded. I shared my love of Christ with my family and acquaintances.
My dear friends, how about keeping an attitude of thanksgiving? Thanksgiving can keep our heart warm and bring about God’s abundant grace. It’s really a way of covering ourselves in the grace of the Lord.

Sept.2 holy communion
The Holy Spirit is holy, so without holiness we can not communicate with Him. According to my past spiritual failure, if I am tainted with porn, sexual desires, or indecent ideas about women, then I will be punished with an exclusion from the communion of the Spirit. My spirit is thus low, and my mood is so down. Trained by God, I now keep a stern principle of keeping myself clean, especially far away from porn.
My dear friends, we can not communicate with the Holy Spirit if we are tainted with anything unholy. Please keep yourself holy and clean in every way. And then, you can enjoy the sweet and harmonious communication with the Holy Spirit by prayers or by His Words.

Sept. 3 love Jesus Christ in an uprightly way
I have believed in Jesus Christ for more than three decades. In the first two decades, I was trained by God to love Jesus Christ with a religious passion. And born as an orphan, I was really in a dire need of emotional support from my faith. So I loved God and Jesus Christ especially in the circumstances of loneliness, desertion, and helplessness. God was really my comfort, help, and true love. And via the love of crucifixion, I could learn to love others, spreading and sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Love could motivate and support me.
In addition, in the third decade, I have been trained to fear God and respect the leading and moving of the Holy Spirit. I learned to respect and obey the authorities concerned and the public. And in fear, I also learned to be more humble than ever before. Actually, love and fear of God as well as Jesus Christ can not be separated apart. We need to love God in fear, and love Jesus Christ in an uprightly way.
My dear friends, love and fear God. Without the love of Jesus Christ, we can not accomplish anything spiritually valuable and sustainable. And with respect and fear of God, we can not stand firm before the public and God. In one word, love Jesus Christ uprightly.

Sept. 5 making all decisions according to heavenly peace
Before I got married, I asked my wife why she decided to marry me. She answered that there was a great inner peace within her, so she decided to marry me. And history proves that she has made a correct decision, for God’s peace is the way for men to choose a peaceful path.
Despite some difficulties my family has confronted in the past, God’s peace has promised us a peaceful and prosperous future. My family and my home have been blessed in every way. God never deserted us, and His eyes have been on my family.
My dear friends, learn to make major decisions in your life according to the heavenly peace. Men’s calculations don’t count, but God has a final say.

Sept. 6 Don’t fear, but believe
About five years ago, I was seriously sick and thus was hospitalized for about two months. After leaving the hospital, I was constantly worried about the safety and welfare of my family. I feared that some accidents might happen. But at that point, God’s words came to my mind and saved my life. The words were “don’t fear, but believe.” So, whenever I feared, I used these words to combat the fear. And the words conquered the inner fear, indeed.
In recent years, despite some small troubles, my family has been kept in peace and honor. God’s words work.
My dear friends, don’t fear but believe. Whenever you face challenges or difficulties, don’t fear but believe. Pray for peace, and then God will keep you in heavenly peace and rest. All things will turn all right. And the sunshine is coming.

Sept. 8 all things do good for those who love the Lord
I experienced a miracle this week. Right in the beginning of this fall semester, I was unexpectedly called to the department office by Prof. Liang, who I had helped her to proofread her doctoral papers. She gave me expensive gifts including Starbucks coffee beans and egg rolls. This was an unexpected gift. Thank God for this. And ten two female professors came to me talk about some cooperative matters. This was under the sovereignty of God, and God’s hands tackled the situation. Actually, I had prayed for this for some time in this summer vacation. And now, God answered my prayers.
My dear friends, all things do good for those who love the Lord. Look up to God, and He will definitely answer your prayers, leading you to somewhere you’ve never imagined.

Sept. 12 day of emancipation
Slavery in the tradition of Israel is temporary, not forever. The slaves will be emancipated in the year of Jubilee and the inheritance will be returned. This spiritual principle can apply to the believers in the New Testament. Our sufferings and tests would more often than not are temporary, not forever. Sickness, poverty, and troubles can last for a certain period of time; however, when God’s ordained time comes, these troubles and difficulties will be overcome and solved.
In my early thirties, I had been unemployed for as long as three years. During that period of time, my life seemed to be hopeless and there was no way out. However, when God’s ordained time came, God opened a door of opportunities for me, and an new era of my life kicked off. During that period, I still went to church regularly and donated my tithe. I prepared myself in professionalism. And then, a golden opportunity came, and my long-term difficulties could be solved.
My dear friends, when you are in sufferings and difficulties, don’t forget that these problems are definitely temporary. Look up to the Lord, Who is faithful. The day of emancipation will come, and you will inherit the blessings.
